Checking out the strip after DefCon
Jon kindly gave us a ride over to the strip.
We wandered the Mandalay Bay.
It looks like the DefCon folks who were adept with locks had been
through here.
A bit later we had dinner at the buffet at the Mandalay Bay. Still
very nice.
The band in the Mandalay Bay was just not at all good. We went over
to the Luxor, and their band was better, but we had other problems (written
about in the next entry). The sound system at the Luxor was not so good
though.
So we went over to the New York New York. On the way, we ran across
this cheesy "Sir Galahad" statue.
An external view of the hotel.
The band, Soul Desire, came out and ant started rocking along.
I was sitting backwards, facing the casino and watching people there,
but there was a big, flat piece of brass that I could see the performers
reflected in. During the second song I realized that I was watching
them way more than the casino, so I turned around. They did a really good
show.
Another shot of the band.
Gazing at the wild wonder.
A picture of ant and I on the strip.
We walked back to the hotel. Apparently, they knew this was going to
get thrown on the ground. An environmentally sound advertisement.
