The dangerduo!

dangerjim got a Core' Duo' machine on Friday, because he needs more power! Here he is starting to put things together.

Scott was helping out too. I just hope our help was helpful.

Then we had this mean pomegranite drink that dangerjim makes with lighter-fluid.

Ok, it's all put together, the neon tube is working! Too bad the rest of the machine isn't... dangerjim told me, after he ordered it, that he was getting an MSI board because it has all these toys on it. I told him I hated MSI boards.

Getting ready to close it up and test it. Turned out the board was dead. We ran a test earlier, and it didn't beep when started, but only I was concerned about that. Oh well. :-)

It worked well enough to check out all the glowtasticness though.

We set up the dual, redundant, motherboard dangerjim got to isolate the part that was failing. Sure enough, it was the MSI motherboard. Scott was playing with dangerjim's dangermagnet.

Very shiny CPU. That's a reflection of my finger. We eventually got it all working and ran some tests to see how much power it used. It's about twice as efficient as a regular machine, all totaled. Pretty good.
